Models, puppets and costumes
 This page shows a selection of characters that Viz has developed through the years. Some models are static, for photography, some are animatronic, for use in film or commercials.

ToyToy the animatronic host for Intertoys.
Toy Toy is
an animatronic hand puppet. Viz.nl facilitated the 3D design for ToyToy the elephant. The electronic
eyes blink and have x/y movement, (mechanism by Creative Engineering).
The hands are cable controlled.
ToyToy was made out of soft polyurethane foam, cast in a
polyester mould. The mould had an exterior form and a core.
In this way we were able to determine the thickness of the
plastic blank, and therefore the flexibility of the puppet.

Animatronic penguin
This is the penguin we are making to perform in the film "Sterke Verhalen" by Kees van Nieuwkerk en Teddy Cherim. It is an animatronic hand puppet produced over a period of five weeks. It is made out of very flexible silicone rubber with jaw and wing mechanisms. therefore the flexibility of the puppet.

For the MelkUnie...
...VIZ helped photographer Hans Kroeskamp by providing the legs
socks, and patches for this photo-montage of made using a real cow.

Wall's Ice Cream
For the summer campaign Wall's Italy needed a new character;- a cow with sunburn to introduce their new ice cream. Veteran Hans Kroeskamp directed photography and post production.

develops a special costume for the cover of the new Gouden Gids
For the cover of the Gouden Gids, (concept by Van Walbeek etc.),
Viz.nl developed the costume which Katja Schuurman. The costume was made from polyester, digitally printed.

Jaegermeister
VIZ.NL develops characters and special effects for the Jaëgermeister commercials.
|

Invited by producer Dennis Keyner, Viz combined a large team of special effects technicians to create the Jaegermeister puppets Ralf & Rudy.

Jaegermeister
required new puppets....
These animatronic puppets were made over a period of three months.
More flexible, more adaptable than the originals, these characters
were a great success. In the end production house NOTCOM was able
to shoot six commercials plus a "tag - on" in three days,
quite a feat considering the technique involved.

Atari...
This laughing dragon was specially conceived for Atari and shot
by Ruud Posthuma. These are actually costume heads which can be
worn by actors. The heads are made out of polyester, which can be
smoothed and worked on. These heads are extremely resilient. |

Frog and fish models for photography
Photographer John de Koning asked us to make two animal models for use in a brochure. His client, Tan Communications, was developing a concept involving "swollen" animals. We started with clay models, cast them and painted them.

A devil jumps out of a box
The box is too small for the devil. We made this to advertise the capabilities of the new parcel-boxes
from the PTT.
