VIZ.NL explodes blister pack of Pepsi

. To promote the new blister pack of Pepsi we were asked to explode it so that it could be shown in slow motion.

Director Brian Morris asked us to help with the special-effects shots for this commercial. We decdied to use highly compressed nitrogen straight from the bottle to achieve this effect. The theory was that if you apply enough pressure quickly enough the bottles would be bound to explode. In fact after intensive testing this turned out not to be the case. The bottles had to be well attached to the table to stop them launching like a rocket and the place where the nitrogen was introduced had to be well sealed. Without colleagues Robert Pachowski and Ernest van Tongeren this special-effect would not have been possible.
