Mon Cheri... Chocolate special-effects

.Antonella Scoliero, producer at 360FX in Milan invited us to participate in this chocolate commercial directed by Stef Viaene. We managed our own liquid chocolate. Model cherries and pralines were by Oxygène in Paris.
The commercial was shot in high-speed. Using our custom built rigs we developed some rather unusual images in collaboration with the director.

Cherries and licquor float together

. A spiral of licquor is penetratedby six cherries just at the moment that the spiral is side on to the camera...
We spent a lot of time preparing this and finding a suitable licquor.

. This s a workshop test of the spiral made using different fruit from a previous commercial. Apart from making the spiral, and finding a suitable viscosity for the licquor, we had to find a way to get the cherries to bunch well and arrive at a given moment in the twist of the licquor...

Pack shot ...

. The praline itself revolves as it is covered from four sides by liquid chocolate. In the revolution the the chocolate recedes and the praline fades to a "hero" in it's wrapping...
