Each face of the dice was etched in magnesium. The six etched faces were then joined to form a cube. We made rubber moulds and cast the three dice in coloured polyurethane. Each of the three individual dice was later smoothed by hand. The whole project was completed within seven days of the go-ahead. Photography by Ernst Yperlaan
