VIZ.NL
makes many different kinds of food models
Viz
makes food models for use in commercials, photography and
displays. Chocolate cannot stand the heat of the lights;
or the crowns on the available pomegranates are all broken;
rape seed is out of season; cheese "sweats" under lights;
grapes are too small to get a decent film image; soya leaves
are not resilient enough for a slow motion shot; all reasons
to have made food models in the past couple of years. We
are specialised in all kinds of highly realistic food models.
Here
we have a pomegranate model for Appelsientje. The colour
is clean and "just ripe", the form is not concave and the
"crown" is perfectly formed. The model was used among real
fruit for a fruit drink commercial.

A
soya leaf made for Adez, soya drink. It was intended for
high speed "flying" shots in combination with the actual
fruits used in the drink.

Grapes
for Kneipp commercial
First
semi-translucent epoxy was cast in exactly the right colour.
The grapes were turned and polished on a lathe. The grapes
are about the size of a hand to make photography easier.

Guylian
chocolates
We
made a full set of Guylian chocolates. Made by glazing directly
into the negative mould so as to retain their authentic surface
gloss, they are water proof and heat resistant. They are
made out of polyurethane resins, cast in a silicona mould.
Below is a small image of a "stand-in"
made for Verkade.

Cracker
In
order to photograph a map of europe on a cracker, made out
of tapenade, Ernst
Yperlaan asked us to make an enlarged cracker. It would have
been very difficult to have made the map at a normal scale
on a real cracker.

Hema
displays
These
Hema displays had to stay for a month. Real "rookworst" would
have started rotting. We made the polyurethane models.
